Branch Accountant - Rwanda

Location - Kigali, Rwanda

Job Summary: Apply principles of accounting to process, review and analyze payables, receivables and ensure to comply with all the statutory regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Input and process all types of entries in JD Edwards, including petty cash vouchers, receipt vouchers, purchase orders, invoices, and payments.
  • Maintain manual filing systems that match with all the major entries in the system and are easy to analyze and make use of later on.
  • Prepare expense reports and raise purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
  • Ensure major creditor /debtors accounts are reconciled regularly.
  • Ensure payments and receipts are allocated in a timely manner to facilitate bank reconciliation.
  • Perform Bank Reconciliations regularly.
  • Prepare Invoices on monthly basis and make sure invoices are delivered to customers.
  • Followup with customers for payments and report to management.
  • Finalize and Prepare Financials on monthly basis.
  • Prepare monthly reports as per the requirements of Management and Head Office.
  • Ensure to comply with all regulatory requirements (Tax & Other legal complainces).
  • Identify any time consuming bottlenecks and recommend improvement processes.
  • Any other works assigned by the Management
Job requirements & Qualifications:

  • CPA from Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda or similar
  • MBA Finance with experiance

  • Knowledge Requirements:
  • Excellent English (Spoken & Written), Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Knowledge of Financial Fundamentals, Tax and other local regulations

  • Experience
  • Minimum five 3+ years experience in Finance & Accounts

  • Other Requirements
    • Limited travel to GCC countries (should be able to eligible to apply to Dubai, UAE)
